Obituary for Christopher Brian Ramsay

Christopher Brian Ramsay, of Annandale, VA, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 with his family and loved ones at his side. He was 67.

Born August 22, 1952 in Port Huron, Michigan, Christopher is the son of Betty Louise (Babcock) Ramsay and the late David Orin Ramsay.

He was employed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency, where he worked as an Employee Relations Specialist.

A ham radio operator from the age of 12, Christopher was a member of the Quarter Century Wireless Association and Past President of QCVA Chapter 91 (Fairfax, VA), Past President of the Northern Virginia Radio Club, and a member of the Vienna Wireless Radio Club.

Reflecting a longtime passion for music, Christopher disc-jockeyed the American Council of the Blind (ACB) Internet radio oldies show, The Legend, and hosted the Internet music game show, Games Galore.

Christopher was a member and Past Treasurer of the National Federation for the Blind Potomac Chapter.

He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.

He is survived by his mother, Betty; one son, David of Reston, VA and wife Rose; one daughter, Elizabeth Ramsay of Falls Church, VA; longtime companion Joanne Eby of Annandale, VA; two sisters, Karen Kimble and husband Cary of Winchester, VA and Julie Russell of Syracuse, NY; and three grandchildren, Max, Mallory and Katherine.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Orin Ramsay, and his brother-in-law, William Russell.

Memorial service will be scheduled for a later date and time.
